Simple foot soaks with tea bags.

Simple foot soaks with tea bags.

Foot soaks.

They are incredibly effective at soothing overworked and tired feet.

Dipping your feet in hot water alone relaxes muscles, hydrates skin, reduces swelling and can alleviate aches and pains after standing and walking all day.

Adding herbal tea bags to your hot water is a really simple and extremely convenient way of increasing the therapeutic actions of a foot soak.

Simply add 3 to 5 bags of tea per gallon of water and soak away.

Here are some of my favorites.

:: Chamomile.
Chamomile is known for its relaxing aroma and anti-inflammatory properties.

:: Peppermint.
Peppermint has a cooling effect and helps relieve muscle pain.

:: Green tea.
Green tea is a potent anti-inflammatory and helps heal abrasions, reduces odor and nourishes skin.

:: Black tea.
Black tea contains tannins that naturally kill bacteria and shrink pores which helps reduce foot sweating.

You may also consider adding marbles or small round stones at the bottom of your soak basin. Roll the soles of your feet gently back and forth across the marbles for a simple massage.

You may also add some epsom salt to ease muscle and joint pain or honey to moisturize feet and ease swelling.

Do you have a favorite foot soak? If so, share it in the comments below.

After you've soothed sore feet, consider adding our Vivian Lou weight-shifting insoles for high heels or our heel-cupping insoles for flat shoes to your favorite pairs and wear them 4x longer without pain.
