Making a cabbage compress is quite easy.
:: Use any kind of cabbage such as savoy or green cabbage.
:: Peel away the outer cabbage leaves, wash thoroughly, then pat dry with paper towel.
:: Use a knife to cut out the hard stem and peel away the cabbage leaves.
:: Using a rolling pin or wine bottle, gently roll and bruise the leaves to release the natural juices. Make sure the leaves are floppy enough to easily mold to your feet.
:: Place the cabbage leaves directly over the feet and cover with gauze or saran wrap.
:: Elevate your feet and keep the cabbage compress on for up to an hour. You may also apply the leaves at bedtime and keep on overnight.
For a cold compress, refrigerate the cabbage before you begin the process above.
For a warm compress, microwave leaves for 15-30 seconds. You do not need to roll the warm leaves, as the heat will bring out the juices of the cabbage.
